Accessibility

We want everyone — students, teachers, parents and partners — to be able to use this website and take part in Prodigy Ideathon. We build the site to recognised accessibility standards and treat accessibility barriers as bugs to fix.

The website

This site is built to align with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. In practice that means:

• Semantic HTML with a single, logical heading structure on every page.
• Full keyboard operability, with a visible focus indicator and a “skip to content” link.
• Text contrast that meets or exceeds 4.5:1 for body text.
• Text that resizes and reflows without loss of content up to 200%.
• Descriptive link text and alternative text for meaningful images.
• Motion that respects the “reduced motion” setting in your operating system; no essential information is conveyed by animation alone.
• Important information — dates, fees, eligibility, awards — is available as real text, not only in graphics.
• Forms with visible labels, a text “(required)” marker (never colour alone), error messages next to the field and linked to it, and status messages announced to screen readers.
• A focus trap and focus return on the mobile menu, and a visible “skip to content” link.

Display settings

The footer of every page has a Display settings panel with options for larger text, higher contrast and reduced motion. These are a convenience layered on top of your browser and operating-system settings — the site is fully usable without them, and your own device settings always keep working. Preferences are stored only in your browser.

Known limitations

Some linked documents (for example, downloadable PDFs and slide templates) may not yet meet the same standard as the website. If you need the information in one of these in an accessible format, contact us and we will provide it.

The programme

Participating schools are asked to communicate accessibility and safeguarding requirements during onboarding so we can plan the School Round accordingly — for example, venue access, seating, timing adjustments, or support during presentations. Reasonable adjustments are made wherever possible.
